False Fame
In the past, people had to have a special talent or ability and had to work hard for years, even a lifetime, to become famous. A few people achieved instant fame through an act of fate or by a courageous decision in a moment of danger. Nowadays, many of the so-called famous people have absolutely nothing to offer other than an absolutely uncontrollable obsession to appear in the media. These people will go anywhere and do anything to become famous. And, worst of all, there are countless TV programs and magazines prepared to help them reach their goal. For this reason it’s harder and harder to find quality programming. The people in the TV industry tell us that this is what the audience wants. Instead of using the media to inform and entertain they are insulting our intelligence. What happened to the good old days when we had real stars?
