Actually does not mean at the present time. It means in fact, really.

In his resume he claims to have a lot of experience but this is actually his first job.

“I totally agree. What about you, Tom?” “Well, actually, I think it’s the wrong approach.”

Adept

Adept means highly skilled.

He's very adept at finding excuses for arriving late to the office.

"Adepto" would be a follower or supporter.

Adherent

Adherent is a person who supports a particular idea, person, political party etc. "Adherente" would be adhesive.

Admit

Admit means to share or agree to the truth of something; confess. 

They admitted copying on the exam. 

It also means to permit to enter; let in. 

I’ve been admitted to the club. 

Admit becomes a false friend when you say: 

This printer admits 200 sheets of paper. 

The correct word in this case would be (to hold).

Advise

Advise is to give advice; an opinion about what someone should do. "Avisar" would be to warn.

Ancient

Ancient is from a long time ago or having existed for a very long time. Ancient is used to talk about the people of civilizations from long ago.

The ancient Romans.

But to refer to a living person we use elderly or senior citizen.

There are many elderly people living in that old neighborhood.

Announce means to make known publicly.

Steve and Ruth have announced their engagement.

Announce does not mean "anunciar" which would be advertise.

Aperture is a hole, crack or narrow opening especially that admits light to pass into a camera. "Apertura" would be inauguration.

Approve does not mean "aprobar un examen", which would be pass. Approve means to have a favourable opinion; to agree with.

Argument means a disagreement, usually quite noisy, a quarrel.

Assume means to take or claim something.

As group leader you will assume the responsibility for setting up the work schedule.

Assume means to begin to have a quality or appearance.

Attend means to be present at or go to.

Attend means to go with or be with to provide protection or help.

He was attended by his bodyguard.
