False Friends - P

Parents

Parents does not mean "parientes". It only refers to your mother and father. Use the word relative or relation to refer to the people in your family.

Every summer we used to have all the relations/relatives over for a family picnic.

Relation(s) and relationship can be used to refer to the way we treat or think about people.

I disagree with many of my boss's ideas but we still have a good working relationship.
