Verse

Verse refers to writing arranged in regular lines, with a pattern of repeated beats as in music, and often rhymes “estrofa”. The part that is repeated after each verse is called the chorus “estribillo”. It also refers to a set of lines of poetry, which forms one part of the poem “estrofa”. The Spanish word “verso” could be translated as poem.

Vote

To vote is the same as in Spanish when used as a verb to express one’s choice or decision.

Which candidate did you vote for?

But when referring to a promise “voto” the word is vow.

We had to take a vow of loyalty to join the group.
