Say es casi siempre transitivo, y no puede usarse una persona como objeto. Say se puede usar con las palabras textuales.
She said, "I can't help you." She said that she couldn't help me.
Tell es casi siempre transitivo, y puede tener un objeto.
He told a lie. He told you a different story than he told me.
Tell puede usarse para dar una orden.
Tell me what you know about the merger.
Speak y talk son parecidos, pero talk se refiere más a una conversación que a las proposiciones de una persona.
We talked about our holidays for hours.
The doctor spoke to us about the test results.
Some animals can talk or say things but they are not capable of telling us anything!
Another "otro" se usa, siempre en singular, para hablar de uno más.
"Can you give me another pencil?"
Another puede ser un pronombre.

Across significa cruzar de un lado a otro en superficie. (a street)
Si se cruza algo alto es mejor utilizar over. (a bridge)
Through significa atravesar algo con volumen. (a tunnel)
So, I go across the street over the bridge and through the tunnel.
Bring significa mover algo hacia la persona que habla.
Can you come here and bring your notepad with you?
Take significa llevar algo a otro sitio.
Could you take these reports over to John's office?
Fetch significa ir, coger algo y traerlo.
Could you fetch the flash report from Antonio's desk?
Carry no especifica la dirección pero requiere usar los brazos o el cuerpo.
I had to carry my suitcases from reception up to my room.
High es lo contrario de low y se usa para la mayoría de las cosas excepto personas, cuando consideramos la distancia desde el suelo.
This mountain didn't look so high from down there in the valley.
Tall es lo contrario short y se usa para personas, barcos y cosas altas y estrechas. En este caso medimos la distancia de arriba a abajo.

On time significa a la hora exacta prevista.
This flight's usually on time but yesterday it was 10 minutes late.
In time significa temprano, a tiempo o con suficiente tiempo.
