Los pronombres reflexivos se usan mucho más en español que en inglés. En inglés se usa el pronombre reflexivo para enfatizar que alguien hace algo por si mismo o sin ayuda:
I can do it myself, thanks.
She finished the report herself.
They cleaned the room by themselves.
Se usa también cuando el que recibe la acción no suele ser uno mismo:
He cut his hair. (Se cortó el pelo.)
He cut himself. (Se cortó)
She killed the bull. (Mató el toro.)
She killed herself. (Se mató.)
