There are many ways to express a large quantity: plenty, a lot, a great deal, a large number, a huge amount etc.

The majority of these expressions can be used with countable or uncountable nouns.

When these expressions are followed by a noun then we use the word "of".


She bought a lot of furniture. She bought a lot of chairs. She bought a lot.
