"Present" means existing or being considered now.

Under the present circumstances I suggest ....


"Presently" means in a short time.

I'll be with you presently.


"Current" describes something that exists now, but was different before.

The current fashion is ....


To "present" someone or something is to introduce. It does not mean "regalar" which would be to give.

I would like to present our new general manager.


A "present" is a "gift".

If you give your children a lot of gifts they won't enjoy them as much as if you give them a few.
